Frage zur Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series

Diese Karte benötigt ja einen Pcie x 1 Slot um betrieben werden zu können. Nun meine Frage... kann ich dies Karte auch in einen Pcie x 16 Slot stecken?

Da leider die oberen Beiden Slots von meinen Grakas belegt sind würde ich gerne die Karte weiter unten reinstecken, damit die Karte nicht die ganze Abwärme der Gpus abbekommt.

aber ich habe meine auch ganz oben in dem schwarzen PCIe. mit der abwärme hab ich keine probs

Die Slots sind außerdem abwärtskompatibel, d. h. eine x1-Karte kann z. B. auch in einen x4-Slot gesteckt werden, die überzähligen drei Lanes werden dann einfach nicht benutzt.

A PCIe card will fit into a slot of its physical size or bigger, but may not fit into a smaller PCIe slot. Some slots use open-ended sockets to permit physically longer cards and will negotiate the best available electrical connection. The number of lanes actually connected to a slot may also be less than the number supported by the physical slot size. An example is a x8 slot that actually only runs at ×1; these slots will allow any ×1, ×2, ×4 or ×8 card to be used, though only running at the ×1 speed. This type of socket is described as a ×8 (×1 mode) slot, meaning it physically accepts up to ×8 cards but only runs at ×1 speed. The advantage gained is that a larger range of PCIe cards can still be used without requiring the motherboard hardware to support the full transfer rate—in so doing keeping design and implementation costs down.

Ich habe schon von einigen gelesen, die Titaniums in x16-Slots betreiben. Es kann allerdings sein, dass bei SLI-Boards die x16-Slots auch nur x16 können und nix anderes. Da solltest du einfach mal etwas nach Erfahrungen mit deiner Board/Soundkarten-Kombi suchen.
