Noch ne Frage.

Was heißt Punkte mit Bonus? Was ist ein Bonus?

Edit: Nochwas, das Aktualisiert sich bei mir nicht?

Bonus bekommst du wenn du eine WU innerhalb einer best. Zeit fertig rechnest (bevorzugte Fälligkeit).

Das mit dem Aktualisieren funktioniert erst nach dem nächsten Neustart oder wenn man das Gadget nochmal vom Desktop entfernt und neu hinzufügt. Liegt vermutlich daran, dass beim ersten Start der Pfad nicht stimmte.

Warum bekomme ich dann nie Bonus?

Meine nächste WU ist in 25 min fertig, die bevorzugte Fälligkeit ist laut FahMon in 1 Tag 21h 24min. Auch beim Gadget steht bei "Punkte mit Bonus" das Selbe.

Das mit dem Aktualisieren klappt jetzt, danke!

So genau kenn ich mich da auch nicht aus, aber ich glaube du bekommst auch nur Bonus wenn du den Client mit dem Parameter "-advmethods" startest. Dadurch bekommst du auch "experimentelle" WUs die wohl mehr Ressourcen verbrauchen (RAM, CPU, Netzwerk).

Bei mir sind die WU-Punkte und die Punkte mit Bonus jedenfalls auch gleich (ohne -advmethods).

Ich versteh das zwar nicht ganz mit dem Bonus und SMP, aber ich hab jetzt auch mal einen SMP-Client nach Anleitung konfiguriert und laufen 😉

Kann mir das jemand mal näher bringen???

@pixelflat: Wie lange dauert so eine ganze SMP Unit bei dir ungefähr?

Der SMP-Client ist für Multicore-CPUs gedacht (unter Quad lohnt nicht) und hat ziemlich knappe Fälligkeiten. Sprich, man muss, wenn man mal eine WU angefangen hat, den PC recht lange (quasi ständig) laufen lassen um noch rechtzeitig fertig zu werden. Ansonsten gibts keinen Bonus und man bekommt nur paar hundert Punkte (je nach WU ~400 oder ~900). Wer also nicht so viel Zeit hat ist mit dem GPU-Client besser dran.

Lässt man allerdings einen übertakteten i7 mit HT drauf los springen je nach Paket bis zu 60.000 PPD raus. Nur der i7 wird afaik mit den bigadv-Paketen rechtzeitig fertig. Realistisch ist das bei uns "Hobby-Faltern" aber wohl nicht. Ich schätze bei meinem Q9450 eher auf etwa 6.000 PPD maximal.

Ich hab selbst erst ein bisschen rum probiert und eine 400er WU braucht wohl etwa 12 Stunden (ich bin dann bei 88-92% bis zur Deadline - also muss ich wirklich fast ständig laufen lassen). Die 900er brauchen etwa 4x so lange. Irgendwie meine ich man kann einstellen welche Cores man bekommt, hat bei mir aber jetzt nicht funktioniert.

Ich habe jetzt zum "Anfang" gleich eine riesige bekommen (2.000.000 Steps, ohne Bonus 921 Punkte, mit Bonus 3147, Zeit für 1% ca. 30min, ich habe noch kein Prozent also ist die Angabe ziemlich ungenau denke ich 😉)

Zieht sich alle Leistung die es bekommen kann...aber iwie hat sich bis jetzt noch nicht viel getan 😕

Man muss erst 10 davon fertig haben bevor man überhaupt Bonus bekommt. Die 6k sind geschätzt...

Mein Q9450 läuft auf 3,34Ghz. Laut dem F@H Sidebar Widget brauch ich für 1% etwas weniger als 20 Minuten.

Nein, das sind die größeren (mit mehr Punkten). Aber eigentlich solltest du nicht länger als ich für 1% brauchen. Poste doch mal deine client.cfg. Eigentlich könntest du nur den -smp Parameter vergessen haben - alles andere ist für den SMP-Client sowieso vordefiniert.

Bei extra_parms= müsste stehen: "-smp -verbosity 9". verbosity gibt nur an, dass fertige Pakete schneller zurück geschickt werden, smp ist das wichtige. Alternativ kannst du auch den Client mit dem Parameter starten.

Joa müsste passen. Außer bei cpuusage sollte vermutlich ein Zeilenumbruch nach der Zahl sein. Die CPU-Usage wird allerdings sowieso ignoriert; der Client verbraucht immer 100% bzw. so viel wie möglich.

Mittlerweile müsstest du aber wirklich schon 1% haben. Poste doch mal die FAHlog.txt...

Edit: Ja, nach dieser Anleitung bin ich gegangen...
Noch ein Edit: Meine CPU taktet mit 2,8 GHz und das Teil bekommt ca. 85% der CPU-Leistung.
Das letze Edit: Ich geh jetzt dann off, ich lasse es einfach über Nacht laufen und schaue Morgen was passsiert ist^^

Nur viel zu langsam. Du könntest vielleicht mal versuchen das "work"-Verzeichnis sowie die queue.dat zu löschen um eine neue WU zu bekommen. Ansonsten kann ich auch nur raten. Wie gesagt, ich versuch das jetzt auch das erste mal mit dem SMP-Client.

So, jetzt funktionierts soweit 😉

Habe gestern Abend dann auch mal das "work"-Verzeichniss gelöscht...

Und habe ihn dann 20 min idlen lassen und promt hab ich das erste Prozent gehabt, danach dauerte ein % dann so 10-11 min, habe das ganze natürlich die Nacht durchlaufen lassen und es ist jetzt (beinahe) Fertig, noch 3 Stunden.

Die Deadline wäre in 4 Tagen :fresse:

Sobald die WU fertig ist, schau ich mal wie hoch ich den Takt bei annehmbaren Temps bekomme, um noch einiges an Zeit rauszuholen.

Also werde ich wohl immer Abends anfangen, und durch ein bisschen ocing müsste ich dann spätestens am folgenden Mittag fertig sein...
